As
mentioned, dancing is the reason you join a dance club, and riding is the purpose
for an ultimate trail riders group; those that made the Last Chance Dance Ride
brought home lifelong memories of a great lodge, great food, great people and
unbelievable vistas. The great lodge was King Mountain Ranch, where we were
served exotic dishes like Buffalo, Venison, molasses-glazed lamb shanks to name
a few. The Lodge sits at 9000' in an area of the Rocky Mountains called Middle
Park at the mouth of Troublesome Basin.
Friday morning we saddled up and rode into that basin for a three-day
cavalcade of adventure wrapped in a shroud of magnificent views and comradery
with saddle pals as we discovered the history of the mountain men who rode these
trails many years before us. On Sunday, we returned to the Lodge for the Three
R's: Relaxation in the saunas and hot tubs, Reliving stories of the trail and
Rewards of the richness of the final Dinner with more stories of the three days
spent together. Monday morning was the final breakfast, a fond farewell to newfound
friends as we headed for home in different directions, to wait for the call
for the next adventure.
This is it, folks, this is what we do -- an adventure travel club for those that love adventure and love to travel. We want more of you to get involved and come join upcoming adventures. We have expanded plans for the future; we're looking at a ride in Alaska and possibly one with the great Hawaiian Cowboys of the Molokai Ranch.
We are joining with some new travel marketing teams and we want
to protect the Outrider's positions, so we're creating The Participants List,
those that have made a ride will automatically go on the list and those of you
who contact us letting us know you plan to saddle up and make a ride in the
next year. It will be helpful for us to know this as soon as possible, so ride
info will get to you quickly -- then plans can be made.
That's it, team, don't be left out. The adventures continue.
See ya on the trail,
Michael Haynes
